Covid-19 Update

COVID-19 UPDATE:

The Iowa Prayer Breakfast is still gathering ONLINE Thursday April 09th at 7:30a. Now at No Cost.

The COVID-19 virus has created an unprecedented situation in our Nation.

Our committee has been praying fervently for those impacted by the virus, and we have been carefully considering all the options regarding this year’s Prayer Breakfast.

We wanted to let you in on some changes that we are making to this year’s gathering:

ONLINE VENUE:

The 59th Iowa Prayer Breakfast will now be held ONLINE! We want to continue our Holy Week tradition of breaking bread together, and we also want to honor the guidelines set forth by our local, state, and federal officials. Please watch for updates regarding how you can register for the VIRTUAL Prayer Breakfast in the coming days.

DATE CHANGE:

We are changing the date of the Prayer Breakfast from Wednesday April 08th to Thursday April 09th at 7:30a. Why the date change you ask? Well, for the last 59 years we have always had the Prayer Breakfast on Maundy Thursday. This year, we had to be flexible in order to secure a venue large enough for us to gather. However, since we are now hosting the Prayer Breakfast ONLINE, we decided to keep with our 59-year tradition in holding it on Maundy Thursday.

NO COST TO ATTEND:

We are excited to share that we will be making this year’s Prayer Breakfast FREE for everyone to join! We have already been in contact with those who have purchased tickets and sponsorships. If you have not been contacted, please email questions@iowaprayerbreakfast.com!

Now more than ever we need to rally together to unite in prayer for our State, our Nation and our leaders.

We hope you will join us in continuing this 59-year tradition in praying for our nation and state – including our Governor and all in leadership – who need God’s protection, wisdom, strength, peace and during this critical time.

I want to leave you with a verse that has been an anchor for our committee during this time:

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.

Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.

His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

  • Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)

We are thankful for God’s blessings on us these last 59 years, and we know He will do great things among us during this time!

God bless you and THANK YOU for supporting the Iowa Prayer Breakfast.
